Edge City Overview

Edge City convenes people working at the frontiers of tech, science, and society in popup villages across the globe. We aspire to be a ‘society incubator’— a lab of experimentation for new ideas, tech, culture, and organizations, all dedicated to accelerating human flourishing.

The villages last 1-2 months and are perfect environments to live, learn, and experiment with frontier projects. The participants are leaders from diverse fields, including Crypto, AI, BioTech & Longevity, Philosophy, and Governance. Edge City is part of and contributes to the Zuzalu ecosystem.

Overview: Edge City seeks a detail-oriented operations leader to manage financial operations, systems, and administrative functions across our global popup villages. This role combines high-level strategic oversight with hands-on operational execution, with opportunity to grow into additional areas including fundraising, people operations, and strategic development.

Core Responsibilities:

Financial Operations (35%)

• Lead monthly financial closes with Haven, our accounting partner, including reconciling all accounts, updating forecasts, and preparing reports by the 15th of each month
• Create comprehensive budgets for each popup village - typically $500k-2M in size - tracking spending against 20+ budget categories and working with Production team for daily updates during events
• Process weekly payment batches across multiple payment systems including traditional banking, crypto wallets, and international wire transfers, typically handling 50-100 transactions per week during busy event times
• Monitor cash flow across legal entities, ensuring adequate reserves and coordinating transfers as needed
• Track grant spending and impact metrics for our Edge City fellowship and Inflection Grants program, preparing quarterly reports
• Set up international banking relationships 2-3 months before each village, and tax requirements and compliance
• Manage Edge City payroll, ensuring timely payments and proper documentation
• Receive and process vendor invoices and payments
