What this is

Edge City India is a three-week popup village on the beaches of Mandrem, North Goa, running October 11 to November 1, 2026. The Circle, India's first work-from-the-beach coworking space, is our anchor hub. The village sits in the heart of the autumn builder season, after the Singapore conference week in early October and flowing into Devcon Mumbai (November 3 to 6).

We run on the bazaar model rather than the cathedral model. Edge City builds the connective tissue: the coworking hub, shared programming, wellness, demo days, and community life. Residencies are the heart of the village: self-organized groups who co-live and build around a shared theme.

What is a residency?

A residency is a group of 5 to 50 people who co-live and collaborate around a shared theme for some or all of the three weeks, usually in a villa or boutique hotel.

Some residencies run like focused sprints: intense, output-driven, building toward something specific by the end. Others work more like research retreats: slower, exploratory, thinking through a problem together. Many combine both.

Past Edge City residencies have spanned early-stage founders, consciousness and meditation, d/acc and cybersecurity, longevity and health, AI builders, art and storytelling, and citizenship and governance. They have produced open-source tools, research collaborations, new companies, and friendships that outlasted the village by years.

What makes a good residency

• A clear theme. Broad enough to attract a strong, diverse group, and specific enough to create real focus. An early-stage founder residency or a consciousness residency works well. A theme so niche that only a handful of people qualify will struggle to fill.
• Room for cross-disciplinary collaboration. The best residencies draw people who would not usually share a room and let them build together.
• A committed organizing team. A lead who holds the vision, someone on operations and logistics, and someone on programming and community. One person can wear more than one hat, and it is much easier with a co-organizer.
• A dedicated hub space. A villa or hotel where your group can cowork, share meals, and gather, whether or not everyone sleeps there.
• A sense of your outputs. Know what you want your group to ship, explore, or walk away with.
• Programming that plugs into the village. Events you open to the wider community, and a daily rhythm that keeps your group connected.

What to avoid

• A theme too narrow to fill a group, or so broad it loses focus.
• A solo organizer with no support. Recruit a co-organizer early.
